Murray Clears Waivers; Avs Re-Sign Svatos

Glen Murray has cleared waivers and will be bought out by the Boston Bruins.

The Bruins obviousl feel that Murray is passed his prime an no longer worth the annual $4.15 million salary. Also, they brought Michael Ryder in as a free agent a little under a month ago, and Ryder will make $4 million, effectively replacing Murray at the scoring winger role.

The Avalanche and RFA Marek Svatos have agreed to terms on a two-year contract. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mats Sundin is expected to make a decision "on his playing career" by next Friday, one week from today. This could mean that he chooses one of the contracts offered to him (Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto), or, MORE LIKELY, simply just decides whether he intends to play hockey this season or not.

It's a bit quiet in the hockey world right now, so there won't be much to update on...I recommend joing the Habs Hockey Talkey FACEBOOK group so that whenever there is a worthy article posted, you will receive a message in your facebook inbox letting you know so.
