Training Camp Teams; Laraque Tweaks Groin


The Canadiens take to the ice Sunday morning in Pierrefonds for Day 2 of training camp, split into two groups that are likely to be the teams heading to exhibition games starting on Monday.

Team A consists of Jaroslav Halak, Marc Denis and Robert Mayer in nets, with Roman Hamrlik, Ryan O'Byrne, Josh Gorges, Patrice Brisebois, Pavel Valentenko, Yannick Weber, Conrad Martin and Chad Anderson on the blue line.

Up front, the lines look like this:

Max Pacioretty, Ben Maxwell, AlexTanguay

Steve Bégin, Maxim Lapierre, Georges Laraque

Olivier Fortier, Yanick Lehoux, Mathieu Dandenault

Team B is made up of Carey Price, Cédrick Desjardains and Loïc Lacasse in goal, with Andrei Markov, Mike Komisarek, Francis Bouillon, Mathieu Carle, Alex Henry, Shawn Belle and P.K. Subban.

The two groups practice at 11 a.m., before a scrimmage at 12:30.


Don't worry too much about Big Georges; Laraque tweaked his groin in practice today but the team is saying the injury is not serious. Also, Saku Koivu was kept out of the afternoon scrimmage as a precaution as he continues to mend a foot injury.
