The Canucks responded in a flash!
St. Louis tried force-feeding Vancouver a taste of their own medicine today by signing RFA Steve Bernier to a $2.5 million offer sheet, but the Canucks quickly matched the offer to re-sign the RFA.
Last week, the Canucks tendered an offer of the same sort to Blues RFA David Backes, which was matched also within the day by the Blues.
Classic case of 'anything you can do, I can do better'.
