Canadiens Development Camp Begins Today

FROM JULY 7 -12 AT THE CENTRE SPORTIF CANDIAC – LES 2 GLACES

30 players to take part in the Canadiens Development Camp

MONTREAL (July 4, 2008) – The Montreal Canadiens announced today that 30 prospects will participate in the team’s annual development camp from July 7-12, at the Centre Sportif Candiac – Les 2 Glaces (10 Radisson, Candiac), on the South Shore of Montreal.

The Canadiens prospects will first take to the ice on Monday, July 7th, at 2:30 p.m. The development camp consists of on-ice sessions every morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the exception of Tuesday, July 8th with on-ice testings will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Off-ice conditioning sessions are also scheduled every day.

19 of the 30 players at camp are Canadiens draft selections, including four of the five players from the 2008 NHL Entry Draft held last June in Ottawa. The group also includes first round picks Ryan McDonagh, Max Pacioretty and David Fischer, defensemen Mathieu Carle, PK Subban and Yannick Weber, as well as forwards Benjamin Maxwell and Olivier Fortier.
