Price With An EARLY Save Of The Year Candidate

Sweet Lord almighty, it doesn't get much earlier than the PRE-SEASON for a save of the YEAR candidate!!!

Carey Price paddled a puck out of mid-air in a twisting/flopping motion in an utter desperation move. The save was reminiscent of that by Jose Theodore in the playoffs many moons ago vs. Boston.

Gord Miller and Pierre McGuire were left SPEECHLESS.

I jumped straight up and popped out the cell phone to call my brothers and field some other incoming calls. Absolutely INCREDIBLE save in an absoultely INCREDIBLE pre-season match, surely the very best pre-season game in the NHL this year.

Montreal wound up winning the match 2-1 via shootout. Max Pacioretty had the regulation goal and a BEAUTIFUL shootout goal, and Robert Lang had the winning shootout goal. Detroit's goal came from Ville Leino, and he scored Detroit's only shootout goal as well.
